FEATURE: No Internet holiday season would be complete without the traditional Christmas poem North Americans have come to associate with this festive time of year. It was originally written by Clement Clarke Moore on Christmas Eve in 1822. However, we've take a few liberties this year and offer you our own rendition of the long-time classic. We hope you enjoy it. Happy Holidays! 'Twas eight o'clock Christmas morning As we sat 'round the tree, "Did Santa Clause bring it?" We all waited to see. A killer computer With blazing light-speed, For surfing and playing It's just what we need! It has to... it must be! It's such a big box, With Internet access From MCM Systems that rocks! It is! We got it! A machine that sure kicks. Now we can trash That old four, eighty-six. Word Perfect for Mommy, Cool games for my Sis, A blazing fast modem, Oh joy, Oh what bliss! In no time at all We were surfing the Net. What to do? Where to go? 'Round the ears, we were wet. There must be a way To work smarter and better. And then we remembered Your handy newsletter. A great tip on searching Will help us no doubt. A cool site about Christmas We must check it out. We can play, we can learn With some great Web resources. They surely will help me Get better grades in my courses. Our Mom will sure love it She can email her sister. She lives far away And really does miss her. And Dad is excited But he sure is no Wiz, But with easy to use software He'll build a site for his biz. We were still in our jammies As we sat 'round the screen. "Oh my!", yelled out Mom "It's a quarter to three!" "Quick...hide the computer. Your Grand-dad's in site, He's a Net-surfing junkie And he'll hog it all night!" As we ate Christmas dinner I think we were right. It was wise that we hid it And it stayed out of site. As Grand-Dad ate dinner He scanned the whole house, Moving the fork on his plate Like a three-button mouse. It just goes to show you And this is not an apology, That it's never too late To adopt new technology. Patience and Practice Are all that's required. Find some cool sites And you'll soon be inspired. In know time at all This truth you should know, You'll be working and surfing Like a tech-savvy pro.
