  • Buyer Beware: Car and Driver Online   (Resource)

From a business and financial point of view, one of the worst investments you will make in your life, is the purchase or lease of a new vehicle. We all know that the minute you drive the vehicle of the lot, it immediately depreciates in value by at least 10 percent. To make the point clearer, a new $20,000 vehicle may really cost you up $27,000 if you have financed it. Even worse, what is it worth once you have paid it off, in say 5 years? Probably less than half the list price. Think about it: you will have paid $27,000 for something that now, may be worth $10,000. If you have purchased a lemon, the total cost can be higher if the warranty runs out and you are shelling out even more on repairs.

That is why you should carefully research alternative vehicles before you buy or lease. Get unbiased, honest and professional information before you buy. One great resource is Car and Driver Magazine Online. Here you will find some great data on thousands of vehicles of all classes. Do some homework before you buy. And remember to fasten your seat-belt. And no speeding. CyberCops may be on patrol!
