Who's Watching? (Reference) Paranoid? Wondering if anyone has you or someone you know under surveillance? Or are you wondering if your last email transmission got through to the intended recipient without someone taking a peak first? If you have legitimate concerns and interest in privacy, or just want to check out some wacky sites and theories about who might be watching, head over to Who's Watching Who? . The site contains over 100 links to sites determined to keep you informed of your evolving privacy loss and who might be watching you. Topics and sites range from Wire Tapping Laws and Procedures to UFO conspiracies and Internet privacy issues. Sources of information range from the credible to the kooky. Enter at your own risk and you decide what's fact or fiction. MacFIxIt and Apple Resources (Mac) If you're new to computers and the internet and your system is powered by the MacOS, then you should find these sites of great value. Even more experienced Mac users might discover some real gems here. MacFixIt offers "Troubleshooting Solutions for the Macintosh". The home page is titled Late-Breakers and is updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It features a variety of fixes related to Macs and Mac software. For example, the May 26 update offered QuickTime and -2048 error: the complete story, Graphics images in Word 98 files may get "lost", Microsoft posts Memo-Resume Wizard Updater version 1.0, Utilities Updates and more. Past updates are archived and can be accessed quite easily. You'll also find links to the Download Library, MacFixIt Reports, a search engine and more. If you want more, try getting the info right from the horse's mouth at Apple. Here you'll find a well organized set of links to all kinds of support including the Tech Info Library which holds over 15,000 easy to read technical articles. Another mysteriously hard-to-find link is Apple Support Tools. Here you'll find everything from software, to online and offline resources and even mailing lists. Apple....for wholesome and refreshing computing! HTML Goodies (Resource) It seems that many of you just can't get enough tips and information on creating, maintaining and improving your websites. Well, after some more digging we found another great site, that's loaded with stuff for beginners and experts. HTML Goodies is a commercial site that offers web site design services, but like many of the better sites do, it offers an abundance of free tips and resources. The main page offers an index of various links. They are summarized below:

This terrific metasite provides pointers to over 30,000 resources related to the internet and just about every aspect of computing. You can begin browsing with twelve major and well organized categories ranging from software to the Year 2000 Problem. Each category has plenty of links, each of which offers a brief description of the site. The last time we checked there were 1,222 links for Computer Science, 6,652 for Hardware, 1,193 for Operating Systems, 2,586 for the Internet, 3,208 for Programming and 10,180 for Software. And that's just scratching the surface! Definitely bookmark this site. Check it out for yourself and don't forget to come up for air. Alex the Ape Online (Children) If you're looking for a fun and educational way for youngsters to use their computer and Internet time, swing over to the Adventures of Alex the Ape Online. The site features an adventure tour on Mystic Island. Begin by meeting all the key characters and participants on the tour bus, then embark on the action packed journey. Take a break at the Clubhouse to play games. Read stories, try lab experiments and even Save Planet Earth. This is a very captivating and safe site for children that will provide them with some entertaining and educational activities. But as always, be sure to supervise the first visit. The Dow Jones Business Directory (Resource) If you want in-depth and accurate business information then the Dow Jones Business Directory is one of the places to start. Not only do they publish The Wall Street Journal, but they now provide an invaluable internet resource. The Dow Jones Business Directory provides a searchable webliography of business sites, where you can research accurate Internet business information. Whether you're interested in news, economics, companies, industries or just want some informative insights, this is great site. And you should definitely check out the References page. You'll find links, sites, articles and more resources on Careers, Company Information, Consumer Tips, Demographics and Research, Management, Small Business Reference, Tax Reference and more. Whether you're feeling bullish or bearish, take a minute to visit and be pleasantly surprised. Organize Your Favorite and Bookmark Files (Download) Here's a nifty program for you savvy surfers and bookmark addicts. Consumer Information Center (Business/Economy) Good information combined with good judgement is power. View hundreds of the best federal consumer publications online or order print versions for free. Art Crimes: Graffiti on the Net (Arts/Humanities) In many cities of the world, graffiti is illegal. Many also believe that it can't be classified as art and therefore is not protected under intellectual property laws. One project to help bring awareness to graffiti as a legitimate art form is Art Crimes.
This graffiti gallery is host to more than 2000 online images from over 80 cities around the world. It is the first and biggest site on the Net to showcase some really marvelous works. The site does not endorse graffiti, but merely strives to preserve and document these constantly disappearing paintings. |
